Packers Deliver All Three Picks; 49ers Lead Monday’s Forecast
Green Bay beat Dallas 23–13, making our original winner, spread and total selections correct. Tonight brings a stronger outright forecast: San Francisco at 76.8% against Washington. The separate spread model slightly prefers Washington +7.5, a reminder that picking the winner and picking a team to cover are different decisions.
Washington visits the 5–0 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Monday, October 19, at 7:15 p.m. CDT, on ESPN and ABC. 49ers viewing guide, 49ers game status report.
Monday operations verified Sunday’s result and refreshed tonight’s prices. All forecasts below remain the ones issued Tuesday, October 13, at 2:48 p.m. CDT.

Green marks the predicted outright winner. The spread and total forecasts below answer separate questions.
Green Bay controlled Sunday night
The Packers built a 17–0 halftime lead, converting nine of their first ten third downs. Their defense intercepted Dak Prescott twice; Dallas managed only 48 rushing yards and asked Prescott to throw 54 passes. A late touchdown reduced the margin but did not change the outcome. Packers recap, Cowboys recap.
Here is the grading against the original selections in our Sunday preview:
| Market | Original pick | Saved probability | Final grade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winner | Green Bay | 58.4% | Correct — Green Bay won 23–13 |
| Spread | Green Bay −1 | 50.2% | Correct — a 10-point win |
| Total | Under 53 | 52.9% | Correct — 36 combined points |
Green Bay covered the original −1 by nine points. The total finished 17 points below 53. Sunday’s saved morning total had moved to 53.5, but the published probability and this grade stay attached to Under 53.
There was no qualifying Dallas–Green Bay recommendation in Sunday’s checked portfolio. These are three correct prediction outcomes, not three placed bets or a claim of profit.
The point model told a different story before kickoff, and that disagreement deserves the same visibility after the result:
| Point-model measure | Frozen projection | Actual |
|---|---|---|
| Green Bay points | 25.10 | 23 |
| Dallas points | 25.84 | 13 |
| Green Bay margin | −0.74 | +10 |
| Combined points | 50.94 | 36 |
Green Bay scored 2.10 points fewer than projected; Dallas scored 12.84 fewer. The projected total was 14.94 points too high, and the margin missed by 10.74 points. The separate point model’s narrow Dallas preference was wrong even though all five winner models and their weighted blend selected Green Bay correctly. These errors use the full-precision saved values before rounding.
Across the two reviewed Week 6 primetime games only, Denver’s Thursday win and Green Bay’s Sunday win leave the original selections 2–0 on winners, 2–0 on spreads and 1–1 on totals. That is not the full Week 6 record. The Friday recap has Denver’s grades; Monday remains pending.
San Francisco to win, Washington to cover
All five saved winner models favor San Francisco, ranging from 74.0% to 79.7%. Their agreement is stronger than Sunday’s Green Bay lean, but the models share information and can share errors.
| Market | Original pick | Saved probability |
|---|---|---|
| Outright winner | San Francisco | 76.8% |
| Spread | Washington +7.5 | 52.3% |
| Total | Over 50.5 | 51.6% |
The separate XGBoost margin and total models project:
| Point-model output | Frozen projection |
|---|---|
| San Francisco points | 29.39 |
| Washington points | 22.29 |
| San Francisco winning margin | 7.10 |
| Combined points | 51.68 |
A San Francisco win and a Washington cover can happen together: Washington +7.5 covers a loss by seven or fewer, as well as a Washington win. The point model’s 7.10-point margin sits below the 7.5-point handicap. Neither the point estimate nor the 52.3% cover probability promises a close finish.
The 51.68 projected total is 1.18 points above the original 50.5, but slightly below Monday’s market total of 52. It is a point estimate, not a probability of going over either threshold. Team scores, margin and total are rounded independently.
Probabilities remain raw and uncalibrated, and recent forecast performance keeps monitoring at YELLOW. Sunday’s correct picks do not validate the precise percentages. The spread blend uses three trained models; the totals blend also includes two neutral 50% proxy contributions. Monday’s prices and injuries have not changed Tuesday’s forecasts.
Monday’s prices and the six saved observations
The latest capture was Monday at 12:07:06 p.m. CDT. These BetMGM snapshots keep the bookmaker consistent; prices elsewhere can differ.
| Observation | Moneyline, SF / WAS | Spread and price | Total and price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tue., Oct. 13, 12:29 p.m. | −425 / +320 | SF −7.5 (−105) / WAS +7.5 (−112) | 50.5: Over −110 / Under −108 |
| Wed., Oct. 14, 12:22 p.m. | −400 / +310 | SF −7.5 (−108) / WAS +7.5 (−110) | 50.5: Over −112 / Under −105 |
| Thu., Oct. 15, 11:35 a.m. | −400 / +320 | SF −7.5 (−108) / WAS +7.5 (−110) | 51: Over −110 / Under −108 |
| Fri., Oct. 16, 12:03 p.m. | −400 / +320 | SF −7.5 (−108) / WAS +7.5 (−110) | 51.5: Over −110 / Under −108 |
| Sun., Oct. 18, 10:32 a.m. | −425 / +333 | SF −7.5 (−105) / WAS +7.5 (−112) | 52: Over −110 / Under −108 |
| Mon., Oct. 19, 12:07 p.m. | −425 / +333 | SF −7.5 (−105) / WAS +7.5 (−112) | 52: Over −108 / Under −110 |
All observation times are CDT.
San Francisco’s moneyline held at −425 from Sunday to Monday, and the spread and total held at −7.5 and 52. Only the total’s prices changed at this bookmaker: Over moved from −110 to −108, while Under moved from −108 to −110. Across the six observations, the total rose 50.5 → 52.
Washington +7.5 still matches the original handicap. At −112, a cover needs to occur 52.8% of the time to break even, above the saved 52.3% estimate. San Francisco’s −425 moneyline requires 81.0%, above its 76.8% model estimate. Those prices show why an outright favorite or a slight spread preference need not become a betting recommendation.
The saved 51.6% Over 50.5 probability cannot be reassigned to Over 52. A 51-point game wins the original over and loses the current one; exactly 52 wins the original over but pushes Monday’s total. No new over probability at 52 has been calculated.
Monday refreshed only Washington–San Francisco across 11 bookmakers. The current portfolio has zero qualifying offers and zero recommendations. Completed games retain historical prices. Saturday’s missing capture remains a gap, Tuesday is the earliest saved observation rather than a verified opener, and these midday prices are not closing lines. The snapshots do not establish why the market moved.
Three things to watch tonight
Can Washington stay ahead of third down? Washington entered the week 29th in offensive third-down conversion rate, while San Francisco ranked first. Productive early downs would reduce how often Jayden Daniels has to rescue long-yardage situations. On the other side, Washington needs stops that prevent San Francisco from extending drives. Commanders matchup analysis.
Can Washington hold up after halftime? Through five games, Washington ranked last in second-half points allowed, while San Francisco averaged 17.8 second-half points. That puts sustained coverage, tackling and possession management on the watch list even if the opening half is close. It is a tendency to test tonight, not a guarantee of late scoring. Official matchup analysis.
Who is available around the quarterbacks? San Francisco ruled out Deebo Samuel and Nick Bosa. Mike Evans and Christian Kirk were questionable on the final practice report, while Kyle Juszczyk had no game designation and was expected back. Washington ruled out leading rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt; Stefon Diggs was questionable. Daniels practiced fully all three days and had no final designation. 49ers final designations, Commanders final designations.
Those absences and uncertain receiver roles matter to the matchup, but they are context rather than numerical adjustments to the frozen forecast. Final game-day inactives remain unverified at this Monday midday checkpoint; questionable players are not assumed active.
Tonight goes on the record as San Francisco to win, Washington +7.5 and Over 50.5, with the separate 49ers 29.39–Commanders 22.29 projection available for comparison afterward. Once Monday’s result is final, Tuesday’s review will close out the full Week 6 slate and update model monitoring. The weekly preview preserves all fourteen original selections.
Source note: This post uses the Monday, October 19 operations review package and the unchanged October 13 forecasts. Prices were observed at 12:07 p.m. CDT, and official football reporting was checked Monday midday. Companion editorial evidence preserves the exact source files, full-precision point projections, original grades and six dated price observations. Original forecast lines remain separate from current prices and final inactive status.
